Musée d'Art moderne de Troyes

The Modern Art Museum of Troyes displays nearly 3,000 artworks from over 200 artists across multiple floors of a 16th-century episcopal building.

The museum opened in 1982 following the donation of 2,000 artworks by industrial collectors Pierre and Denise Lévy to the French government in 1976.

The permanent collection features works from major art movements including Realism, Post-Impressionism, Fauvism, and Cubism, with pieces by Courbet, Derain, and Braque.

The museum maintains regular exhibitions on different floors, with dedicated spaces for Marinot and Derain on the first floor and earlier art movements on the second floor.

The museum houses a collection of African and Oceanian art that demonstrates the influence of non-Western cultures on modern Western artists.
