Tennis club de Reims

The Tennis Club swimming facility is an Art Deco structure featuring two reinforced concrete basins with walls decorated with mosaics and geometric bands designed by architect Jacques Rapin. The complex also includes nine tennis courts, five of which are covered, arranged throughout a garden designed by E. Redont.

The facility was established during the Art Deco period and became an important leisure destination in Reims throughout the 20th century. It received protected monument status in 2001, recognizing the architectural and cultural value of the pool, garden features, and surrounding structures.

The name reflects the dual purpose of the facility, which combines swimming and tennis in a single leisure space. The garden setting creates a welcoming environment that ties together the different recreational activities on the grounds.

The facility is accessed from rue Lagrive, where a plaque provides information about its history. Visitors should plan ahead since the venue operates during specific hours and operates as both a swimming and sports facility.

Beyond its role as a training facility, the site served as a performance venue from the 1920s onward, demonstrating cultural uses beyond athletics. A plaque on rue Lagrive commemorates this artistic past.
