The park was established in 2003 during the development of Borderouge district, on former market gardening lands from Lalande and Croix Daurade.
The gardens of the Museum of Toulouse within the park display 700 varieties of food plants from different regions of the world.

The park houses a 150-year-old Chilean Jubaea palm tree, which receives special protection due to its endangered status.
