Serpent d'océan, Installation artwork in Saint-Brevin-les-Pins, France

The aluminum sea serpent skeleton stretches 130 meters along the coast, featuring articulated vertebrae that lead to an open-mouthed head.

The installation emerged in 2012 as part of the Estuaire contemporary art exhibition, created by Chinese-French artist Huang Yong Ping.

The skeletal structure represents the relationship between human influences and natural forces through its placement at the intersection of river and ocean.

The installation stands at the Mindin point where the Loire River meets the Atlantic, accessible by walking along the Saint-Brevin-les-Pins shoreline.

During high tide, water covers most of the structure, leaving only the head and upper vertebrae visible above the ocean surface.
