Blue Villa, Art Deco villa in Barcelonnette, France
The Villa Bleue features four distinct elevations with a symmetrical layout, large windows, and colorful facades spanning across multiple floors.
Constructed between 1929 and 1931, the Villa Bleue was commissioned by Camille Jean, founder of the Francia Maritima department store in Mexico City.
The stained glass windows created by Jacques Gruber and wrought iron work by Schwartz demonstrate the refined craftsmanship of early 20th century France.
The villa is situated at the intersection of avenue Porfirio-Diaz and avenue de Berwick, surrounded by a 10,455 square meter park with gardens.
The central hall extends through two floors, illuminated by a skylight and connected by a suspended spiral staircase leading to the first-floor gallery.
