Tri Postal, Performance hall and former sorting office between Lille Flandres and Lille Europe stations, France.
Tri Postal is a performance venue housed in a former postal sorting facility positioned between Lille's two main train stations. The building contains three spacious floors dedicated to hosting exhibitions, concerts, and artistic events.
The building was constructed in the 1950s to serve as a postal distribution center and operated for several decades in that function. It was transformed into a cultural hall when Lille became the European Capital of Culture in 2004.
The space brings together audiences interested in art and music in its open industrial rooms. You can sense how the former workplace has become a gathering point where different creative disciplines meet and mix together.
The venue sits on Avenue Willy Brandt within walking distance of both train stations in the city center. Visitors can navigate the three open floors comfortably and find clear signage directing them through the different exhibition and performance areas.
The building retains much of its original industrial character including exposed ceiling structures and solid concrete elements from its postal days. This raw mix of old infrastructure and contemporary use creates an unusual backdrop for art and music that feels different from traditional performance venues.
