Église Saint-François du Havre, Gothic church in Le Havre, France
The église Saint-François du Havre features three entrance gates, a modest tower, and a nave supported by Doric columns and vaulted aisles.
The church construction started in 1542, faced interruptions during religious wars, received consecration in 1638, and completed its choir section in 1687.
The church shifted its dedication from Saint Francis of Paola to Saint Francis of Assisi following the arrival of Capuchin monks in 1590.
The religious building maintains regular services and stands in the Saint-François district, which exhibits a regional architectural style different from other parts of Le Havre.
Four bells cast in 1891 by Adolphe Havard ring within the church tower, each bearing distinct names and tones.
