Platane d'Orient du parc Monceau

The Oriental plane tree in Parc Monceau is a large specimen with a substantial trunk located in the western section of the park. Its wide canopy and robust growth form make it one of the most prominent trees in this green space.

This tree was planted in 1814 and has stood in the park for more than two centuries. It is one of only two officially classified notable trees in the entire park.

The tree serves as a gathering spot in the park where people rest beneath its canopy. Its substantial trunk and wide crown create a natural focal point that draws visitors throughout the year.

The tree is located in the western section of the park and is easily accessible from several park entrances. Plan to spend a bit of time in the surrounding area to fully appreciate the tree and its setting.

The bark of this tree naturally peels away in large sheets, revealing a distinctive mottled pattern underneath. This natural exfoliation creates an ever-changing visual texture that makes the tree memorable to observe.
