Launch site for V-1 flying bombs at Brécourt

The Brécourt facility is a former German missile launch installation in northern France, consisting of two parallel concrete walls forming a ramp structure. The underground network includes storage tunnels and chambers that extend beneath the entire complex.

Between 1943 and 1944, German forces converted former French naval storage into a launch installation for flying bombs. This transformation reflects the intensity of military engineering efforts during that period of the war.

The site carries the designation of a historical monument, preserving knowledge about military technology from World War II. Visitors can sense the scale of wartime operations that once took place here.

The site remains closed throughout most of the year except during Heritage Days when guided tours allow access to specific areas. It is wise to check these special opening dates in advance and arrange your visit accordingly.

The installation contained eight large concrete tanks with a total capacity of 80,000 cubic meters for fuel and ammunition storage. This scale demonstrates the technical complexity and resource commitment behind this wartime facility.
