Château de Murol en Saint Amant, Medieval fortress in Saint-Amant-Tallende, France
The stone castle stands above the Monne River with three main buildings surrounding an inner courtyard and pepper-pot towers on the eastern side.
Originally built in the 13th century as a fortified house, the castle underwent major renovations in 1875 to transform it into a neo-Gothic structure.
The castle contains preserved frescoes, stained glass windows, and decorated rooms including a Gothic chamber and library registered as historic monuments since 1999.
The castle opens from May to October for rentals, accommodating up to 25 people in 12 rooms spread across three floors.
A heated swimming pool made from local Volvic stone adds modern comfort to this medieval property.
