Hôtel de Felzins

The Hotel de Felzins is a Renaissance mansion in Toulouse featuring a monumental entrance gate adorned with Corinthian columns, marble inlays, and detailed sculptural work. The building combines two formerly separate properties into a unified architectural composition located on rue de la Dalbade.

Built between 1550 and 1556 for the parliamentarian Gaspard Molinier, the residence unified two neighboring properties into a single structure. This consolidation demonstrated the wealth and influence of Toulouse's parliamentary elite during the Renaissance period.

The ornate fireplace inside displays representations of Roman emperors and inscriptions celebrating Hercules Gallicus, reflecting the learning and taste of its original owners. Such mythological themes were fashionable among wealthy Renaissance families seeking to demonstrate their knowledge and refinement.
