The private mansion displays a fourteen-bay facade with two monumental portals and windows adorned with triangular and curved pediments on the first floor.
The Knights of the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem established their priory near La Dalbade church in the early 12th century before its 17th-century reconstruction.
Architect Jean-Pierre Rivalz designed the building between 1668 and 1680, drawing inspiration from Rome's Palazzo Chigi for the main facade.
The Regional Directorate of Cultural Affairs now occupies this listed historical monument, accessible from Carmes metro station on Line B.
Archaeological excavations conducted between 2003 and 2005 uncovered medieval wall paintings and funeral structures beneath the current building.
