The four-level residence at 31-31bis rue Campagne-Première features reinforced concrete structure with brick infill and extensive glass windows facing both street and courtyard.
The structure, completed in 1911 by architect André Arfvidson, received recognition at the 1912 Paris facade competition for its innovative Art Nouveau design elements.
Twenty spacious artist workshops within the building provided living and working spaces for numerous creators, including Man Ray and Chaïm Soutine.
The building incorporates dual-level apartments accessible by elevator, with private sections overlooking an interior courtyard that separates the street-facing and passage-facing sections.
Alexandre Bigot's ceramic stoneware adorns the facade, creating a polychromatic effect that integrates with the windows, cornices, and decorative friezes.
