Ancien couvent Saint-François d'Oletta

The former Franciscan convent sits roughly two kilometers from Oletta village in Haute-Corse, combining structures from the 17th and 18th centuries with older medieval elements. The complex includes a chapel registered as a historical monument since 1974 and now hosts various artistic events throughout the year.

The religious complex was founded in 1390 on the foundations of earlier medieval structures, representing one of the most important monastic centers on the island. Its establishment marked a period when Corsican religious institutions gained strength and influence across the region.
