The octagonal cast iron bandstand features decorative elements and cartouches displaying names of French composers on each side of its structure.
Built in 1870 with a budget of 8400 Francs, the bandstand underwent complete reconstruction in 1914 while preserving its original cast iron components.
The bandstand incorporates names of ten French composers including Ravel, Bizet, Debussy, Saint-Saëns, Massenet, Gounod, Fauré, Berlioz, Lalo, and Chabrier.
Located in Place Jean-Jaurès, formerly Place Marengo, the bandstand serves as a central gathering point for municipal events and performances.
The 1914 reconstruction required a new foundation and access stairway, demonstrating the adaptation of nineteenth-century urban furniture to modern needs.
