The Château de Thénières stands on the northwest slope of Mont de Boisy at 733 meters elevation, with views extending over Lake Geneva.
Ernest de Boigne commissioned architect Bruger to construct this manor house in 1863, replacing the former medieval Château de Ballaison.
The architecture incorporates Scottish design elements and features a high round tower with turrets, reflecting the 19th-century interest in medieval structures.
The building now serves as offices for Thonon Agglomeration and various public services, with contact available at 04 50 94 18 71.
A health course for sports activities has been established near the manor house, adding recreational value to the historical property.
