The construction period from 1984 to 1989 marked the relocation of ministry employees from their previous location in the Louvre Palace.
The building complex includes five structures named after French statesmen: Colbert, Necker, Sully, Turgot, and Vauban, representing administrative heritage.
The complex features an embarcadero on the Seine River, enabling rapid boat transport connections to other government facilities across Paris.
The Colbert section incorporates two massive arches weighing 8000 tons each, positioned directly against the Seine River.
