Château de Montjoye, 19th century castle in Clairefontaine-en-Yvelines, France.

Château de Montjoye is a 19th century castle situated on the northern ridge of a valley, combining limestone, brick, and timber framing in its construction. The structure features distinctive roofs covered in flat tiles with broken long-side edges.

Originally built as a hunting lodge around 1830, the structure underwent gradual expansion by successive owners over the decades. In 1908, a notable English-style southern facade was added to the property.

The castle served as a refuge during World War I, when its owners sheltered wounded French and English soldiers within its walls. This act of compassion reflected the family's deep connection to their local community during the conflict.

The estate now functions as the National Technical Center of the French Football Federation, which has occupied the property since 1983. Visitors should check ahead as active training activities may affect accessibility to the grounds.

The castle grounds contain the reconstructed portal of the former Clairefontaine abbey church, which was relocated to the park in 1914. This architectural element connects the property's history with the region's religious heritage.
