Musée historique de Haguenau, History museum in Haguenau, France
The Musée historique de Haguenau occupies a neo-Renaissance building with multiple exhibition halls displaying artifacts from prehistoric times through modern history.
The museum opened in 1900 with initial collections donated by former Haguenau mayor Xavier Nessel, who also funded the construction of the building.
The exhibition includes Bronze Age burial objects from Haguenau forest necropolis, Roman legionnaire helmets, and medieval religious sculptures from local churches.
Located at 9 Rue du Maréchal Foch, the museum opens Wednesday through Sunday with seasonal hours and offers guided tours for groups up to 40 people.
The museum houses over 80 Art Nouveau and Art Deco glass pieces that represent the glass manufacturing traditions of Eastern France.
