La Tanière du Dragon is an underground cave beneath Sleeping Beauty Castle that houses a large animatronic dragon surrounded by rocks and treasure. The creature moves constantly, breathes smoke, and sits within a dimly lit dungeon carved into the castle's foundation.

When it opened in 2000, this cave attraction featured one of the largest animatronic figures Disney had created at that time. The technology inside pushed forward how theme parks could use movement and special effects to tell stories underground.

The attraction blends Disney storytelling with European medieval traditions, showing how fairy tales have been passed down through generations across the continent. Visitors experience a space that feels like stepping into legends that shaped European imagination.

The cave is dimly lit, so allow your eyes time to adjust and wear comfortable shoes for the uneven ground inside. Visiting in the morning or during parades helps you avoid long lines and see the details more clearly.
