La Tanière du Dragon is a walk-through cavern beneath Le Château de la Belle au Bois Dormant at Disneyland Paris. Inside, an Audio-Animatronic dragon measuring 27 metres from head to tail lies sleeping in a dimly lit space; it occasionally wakes to puff smoke and growl.
La Tanière du Dragon opened with Euro Disneyland on 12 April 1992. Its Audio-Animatronic dragon, 27 metres from head to tail, was the largest animatronic figure ever built when the park opened. In 1987 Imagineer Terri Hardin led the project, the only Walt Disney Imagineering designer who created it; she proposed placing the skeleton of Maleficent's dragon form in the lair, but the idea was rejected.
