Astro Orbitor, Spinning ride in Tomorrowland, Hong Kong.
Astro Orbitor is an amusement ride in Tomorrowland at Hong Kong Disneyland in Hong Kong in China. The vehicles rotate around a central tower, and riders adjust their height by moving a control stick inside each capsule.
The attraction opened in 2005 when the park first welcomed visitors. Its design follows earlier versions built at other Disney locations in previous decades.
The name recalls the era when humanity began exploring outer space. Riders enjoy the sensation of steering their own vessel and watching the ground shift beneath them as they rise and fall.
Each vehicle seats two people, and there is no minimum height requirement for children. Families can ride together, and the motion stays gentle enough for young children to enjoy comfortably.
This version uses flying saucer shapes instead of the rocket forms found at other parks. The colors are brighter, resembling spacecraft from old science fiction films.
