Église Notre-Dame-du-Rosaire des Lilas

The Église Notre-Dame-du-Rosaire des Lilas is a modern parish church with a two-level interior structure and a gallery level designed to accommodate approximately 500 worshippers. The building's layout includes space for an organ and provides a functional setting for regular religious services.

This building replaced a stone chapel from 1887 that served the local community for over one hundred years before demolition in 2011. The new construction was built to serve the growing population and provide a modern space for worship.

The stained glass windows by Didier Sancey depict biblical narratives and flood the interior with colored light throughout the day. As visitors move through the nave, these windows guide the eye upward and establish a reflective space for prayer and contemplation.

The church is open on weekdays for services and offers accessible entry to the main hall for visitors of all abilities. Visiting on weekday mornings allows you to experience the interior in a quieter setting away from larger weekend gatherings.

This was the first church newly constructed in the Île-de-France region during the 2000s, marking a significant moment for modern religious architecture in the area. Its completion represented an important addition to contemporary worship spaces in a traditionally historic region.
