Roc des Trois Marches, Mountain summit in Méribel, France
Roc des Trois Marches is a summit in the Vanoise massif that rises to 2,681 meters above Méribel and the surrounding ski terrain. From the top, you can see across multiple Alpine ranges and valleys that stretch out in all directions.
The summit gained importance in the 1960s when the Three Valleys ski region began expanding its cable car and trail network across the massif. This growth transformed it into a key location for winter sports in the French Alps.
Local mountain guides share their expertise of Alpine navigation techniques and safety protocols while leading groups to the summit throughout the year.
You can reach the summit most easily by taking the Plattières cable car from Mottaret, which operates in summer too. Several hiking trails lead to the top, and clear weather days offer the best conditions for visiting.
The summit gets its name from three distinct rocky steps that form the approach to the peak. These prominent features are visible from a distance and create a memorable visual signature on the mountainside.
