Mont Lozere - Pic Cassini, Mountain summit in Cévennes National Park, France.

Located at an elevation of 1542 meters, Pic Cassini presents forest areas with beech and creeping pine trees across its slopes and paths.

The summit bears the name of the Cassini family, who conducted geographical measurements for the first detailed topographical map of France under Louis XV.

The GR70 hiking path near Pic Cassini follows the route documented by Robert Louis Stevenson in his 1878 travel book about the Cévennes.

The hiking trail spans 9.27 kilometers from Parking du Mas de la Barque, with a moderate elevation gain of 333 meters over a three-hour duration.

The former ski station at Mas de la Barque transformed from downhill to cross-country skiing facilities in 1994 due to insufficient snow conditions.
