Petit Montrond

Petit Montrond is a mountain summit in the Jura range standing at about 1533 meters, located within a protected natural reserve. From the top, views extend across neighboring peaks and the surrounding forested landscape.

The mountain traditionally served as a landmark in the local landscape and has long been recognized by residents of surrounding valleys. Its location within the nature reserve reflects efforts to protect this part of the Jura chain.

The hiking trail to the summit is approximately 5 kilometers long starting from the Col de la Faucille parking area with clear trail markers throughout. The elevation gain is gradual enough for walkers with average fitness to complete the route comfortably.

During winter months the trail transforms into a snowshoe route, offering visitors two completely different outdoor experiences on the same mountain. This seasonal shift allows hikers to explore the landscape in an entirely new way.
