Église de Rognonas, Parish church in Rognonas, France.

Église de Rognonas is a stone church featuring a main nave with side aisles, a reconstructed choir completed in 1831, and decorative paintings applied to the interior in 1872. The building occupies a prominent position near the town center with traditional masonry construction throughout.

An original chapel dedicated to Saint Peter in Chains was constructed during Pope Adrian IV's tenure between 1154 and 1159, but was entirely replaced by the current building at a later date. The relocation of the cemetery from the church's front entrance to its present location in 1784 represents a significant reorganization of the site.

The church serves as the spiritual center of the town, where parishioners gather for regular worship and annual celebrations honoring Saint Eloi and Notre Dame de Lourdes. These occasions shape the religious rhythm and social fabric of Rognonas' community life.

The building is easily accessible near the town center and can be visited on foot as part of exploring the local area. Visitors should check ahead for service times if planning to view the interior during active worship.

During reconstruction work in 1759, a stone dating from the 4th century was discovered on the site and later repurposed as the baptismal font inside the church. This ancient fragment connects the building to layers of history reaching far back into the Roman past.
