Amiens Synagogue, Modern synagogue in Amiens, France
The Amiens Synagogue features a geometric design with a minimalist facade marked by a Menorah and decorative Star of David patterns on its walls.
The current synagogue, opened in 2017, replaced two previous buildings, including one that was seized during World War II and later returned to the community.
The synagogue maintains both Sephardic traditions and serves Moroccan and Tunisian Jewish communities while offering regular prayer services and educational programs.
Located at 38 rue du Port d'Amont in Amiens, the synagogue welcomes visitors who coordinate their attendance in advance through the administrative office.
Architect Paul Chemetov incorporated Bauhaus influences into the design, creating mashrabiya openings shaped like Stars of David throughout the structure.
