Plage de l'Océan is a beach on the Atlantic coast of Anglet, in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department, about 700 km southwest of Paris. Its shoreline is fine sand, and the beach is used for swimming, surfing and beach sports. The beach hosts the International Surfing Association World Games, and its low-tide sandbanks are what allow events of that scale: at low tide the flats join into a continuous surface. The site lies at the mouth of the Adour, whose shifting sandbars shape the shoreline.
