Château de Beauclair, Heritage castle in Morville-en-Beauce, France.
The Château de Beauclair is a castle with a symmetrical main building flanked by two wings and features outbuildings such as a farm, stables, and orangery. The complex spreads across the flat terrain of the Beauce region with a clear geometric layout.
The castle was built in 1780 by Count René Charles François de La Tour du Pin Chambly de La Charce on the site of an ancient Roman villa. This construction replaced an earlier settlement and marked the transition to a 18th-century noble estate.
The grounds hosted a recording studio where French singer Johnny Hallyday created several songs during the early 1970s. This studio became a notable space for music production in the region at that time.
Following a major fire in 2019 that damaged the roof, extensive restoration work was completed by the end of 2022. Today visitors can see a fully restored complex with recovered architectural features and structures.
The castle has a notable connection to French music production that attracted various artistic projects beyond its time as a famous studio venue. This artistic role is less recognized than its architectural significance.
