Chapelle Sainte-Croix d'Auriol

Chapelle Sainte-Croix d'Auriol is a chapel standing on a hilltop at 366 meters elevation with views overlooking the Garlaban and Sainte-Baume mountain ranges. The building sits in a position that offers panoramic sightlines across these surrounding highlands from its elevated perch.

The path to the chapel runs about 1.3 kilometers from an unpaved parking area with roughly 66 meters of elevation gain along the route. The hike is manageable for people with basic fitness and requires proper footwear for the unpaved trail.

A large wooden cross was revealed during the 2015 restoration and remains visible from neighboring communities across the landscape. This striking element makes the chapel a visual landmark recognizable from considerable distances away.
