Parc de la Cure d'Air, Urban park on Haut-de-Chèvre hill in Nancy, France.
Parc de la Cure d'Air is a 2.5-hectare urban park on the Haut-de-Chèvre hill in Nancy, situated 300 meters above sea level. The grounds feature walking paths, children's play areas, and far-reaching views across the city and surrounding countryside.
The park was established in 1900 as a convalescence center and gained a funicular in 1905 to improve access. It opened to the public in 1991 as a free recreational space.
The park displays heritage apple and pear varieties that reflect farming traditions of the Lorraine region. These trees shape the character of the grounds and show how the land was once cultivated.
The park welcomes visitors of all ages with well-maintained paths and facilities suitable for both individuals and groups. Wear sturdy shoes as the paths can vary in condition depending on the season.
The former funicular that operated until 1908 was an early form of urban transportation linking the park to lower Nancy. Although the system was closed after an accident, it remains part of the city's transport history.
