Chapelle du château de Fallavier

The chapel of Château de Fallavier is a medieval remainder standing on the northern side of the fortress ruins in Isère. Gothic windows are still visible today, showing the original structure of this religious space built into the fortification.

The chapel was built in the 13th century when Philip of Savoy reinforced and expanded the fortress. These works were part of larger efforts to strengthen the castle militarily.

The chapel remains show how faith and defense came together in the Middle Ages, with the prayer space built directly into the castle walls. You can still sense how the priest would have conducted services while surrounded by military architecture.

Access to the chapel is through guided castle tours offered on specific days and seasons. It is best to check ahead for current visiting possibilities and opening times.

The chapel has nearly vanished, yet its Gothic windows remain as a marker showing where faith and warfare once met. These windows are often the only clue that a prayer space ever existed in this spot.
