Alaverdi Monastery, Orthodox monastery in Akhmeta, Georgia

The monastery originated in the 6th century by Joseph of Alaverdi, and the current cathedral was reconstructed in the 11th century reaching 50 meters in height.
The monastery maintains a collection of manuscripts, religious artifacts, and art pieces in its museum, representing centuries of Georgian Orthodox traditions.
The religious complex stands 20 kilometers from Telavi city and receives visitors who can explore the grounds, museum, and ancient architectural elements.
The monastery incorporates a vineyard containing 500 grape varieties and a wine museum showcasing the regional wine production methods.
