Mushthaid Garden

Mushthaid Garden is a public park located along Agmashenebeli Avenue, featuring walking paths, fountains, flower gardens, and diverse tree species across 5 hectares. The grounds include benches for seating, a miniature railway system, and buildings housing a museum and performance space.

The garden was established in 1835 when an Iranian religious leader acquired the land and settled here after fleeing his homeland. In 1935, the world's first children's railway opened at this location and has operated continuously as an educational and recreational site ever since.

The garden hosts a silk museum displaying textiles from across the world, reflecting the region's historical role in trade routes. Regular performances here blend contemporary dance with traditional Georgian folk arts, creating spaces where locals and visitors gather to experience living culture.

The park is accessible with paved pathways and seating throughout, making it easy to navigate and spend time at your own pace. Dining options and cafés are available on-site, so you can rest and refuel during your visit without leaving the grounds.

The world's first children's railway debuted here in 1935 and remains a distinctive feature of the visit. This pioneering system reflects early educational thinking about transportation, offering young riders insight into how railways work through hands-on experience.
