Sermersooq

Sermersooq is a municipality in eastern Greenland covering vast territories with deep fjords, mountains, and glaciers across its landscape. Several settlements dot the coastline throughout the region, each relying heavily on maritime connections and sea-based resources.

The municipality was established in 2009 when five former administrative districts merged to create a new governance structure for the region. This reorganization streamlined administration and shaped Greenland's modern boundaries.
