Ketil, Granite mountain in Kujalleq, Greenland

Ketil rises to an elevation of 2,010 meters with a western granite wall extending more than 1,000 meters above the surrounding landscape.

The first successful ascent of Ketil occurred in 1974, marking a significant milestone in Greenland's mountaineering exploration and documentation.

The mountain's Greenlandic name, Uiluit Qaqqaa, translates to Shell Mountain, reflecting the indigenous understanding of this geographical formation.

Mountain expeditions require extensive preparation due to the remote location at coordinates 60.4167°N latitude and -44.5167°W longitude.

The mountain forms part of three massive rocky formations alongside Nalumasortoq and Ulamertorsuaq on the eastern side of Tasermiut Fjord.
