Čavoglave

Čavoglave is a rural settlement nestled between the mountains Svilaja and Moseća at an elevation of about 420 meters. The village spreads across a large expanse of Dalmatian terrain near where the Čikola river originates.

The settlement was evacuated during the war of the 1990s, but many residents returned and took part in defending their territory. This experience remains central to how the community understands its own history.

The Church of Croatian Martyrs shapes the village center and serves as a gathering place that reflects how locals honor their past. This focus on remembrance remains woven into daily community life and how people gather together.

The road D56 passes along the southern edge of the settlement and connects it to nearby municipalities. As a mountain location, weather conditions can change, so visitors should come prepared for varying conditions.

The village hosts annual commemorative concerts during Victory and Homeland Thanksgiving Day that draw visitors from across the region. These events show how the small mountain community keeps its past alive in a personal way.
