The A1 is Croatia's primary motorway, running for over 470 kilometers from Zagreb in the north to Split on the coast. The route passes through varied terrain, with numerous bridges and tunnels built to navigate the mountainous geography.

The motorway includes more than 370 engineering structures such as bridges, viaducts, and tunnels to navigate the challenging landscape. These structures represent a remarkable achievement in civil engineering required to cross the difficult terrain.
