Description
Gvozdansko Castle is a stone ruin located at an elevation of 235 meters (771 feet) overlooking the landscape of Sisak-Moslavina County in central Croatia. The deteriorated structure still displays its fortified walls and conveys the original scale of the defensive installation.
History
The castle was built in the late 15th century by the Zrinski noble family and served as an important fortress for generations. It fell to Ottoman forces in 1578 after a prolonged siege fought during harsh winter conditions.

The castle served as a seat for the Zrinski family, who operated mining operations and minting workshops on the grounds. These economic activities made the location a significant regional center during the 16th century.
