Stara Sušica, Ravna Gora

Stara Sušica is a small settlement nestled in the mountainous Gorski kotar region at roughly 800 meters elevation. Houses stand scattered among dense coniferous forests that cover the area and create a secluded, quiet character throughout the village.

The settlement developed as a response to Ottoman pressures in the early modern period, with defensive structures like the castle built to protect the area. It played a role in the broader defensive strategy of the region during that turbulent era.
