Papuk Nature Park

The protected area spans across 336 square kilometers of mountains, valleys, forests, and streams within Požega-Slavonia and Virovitica-Podravina counties.

The geological formations in the park date back 400 million years, containing remains from the period when the region was submerged under the Pannonian Sea.

The medieval fortresses scattered throughout the park, dating from the 13th century, reflect the defensive architecture during Turkish invasions of Croatia.

Visitors can access the park through three northern entrance stations in Voćin, Slatinski Drenovac, and Orahovica, or through the southern entrance in Velika.

The Skakavac waterfall in Jankovac forest park drops from 35 meters, providing habitat for native brown trout and protected river crayfish.
