The beach formed part of an exclusive military resort complex during the Yugoslav period, with numerous hotels catering to high-ranking officers until the 1990s.

Local residents gather at this coastal spot throughout summer evenings to participate in traditional swimming and fishing activities near the old pier.

Visitors can reach the beach via regular bus services from Dubrovnik, with the journey taking approximately 15 minutes from the main terminal.

The beach sits beneath five abandoned hotel structures, including the Grand Hotel, creating an unusual backdrop against the Mediterranean coastline.
