Tower Center Rijeka is a mixed-use complex in the Pećine district, consisting of a 15-storey tower and lower sections averaging 8 storeys, with a total length of 370 m and a maximum width of 80 m. Its shopping gallery spans five levels and contains more than 150 shops and 8 wholesale outlets, plus a CineStar multiplex cinema. The structure is divided into eleven expansion joints, and a 22 m wooden dome covers the central space.
The building opened in 2006 and brought a new shopping concept to the region at that time. Since then, it has become an important part of the local retail landscape and urban development.
The name Tower Center comes from the 15-storey tower that rises above the shopping gallery. The centre opened on 21 November 2006 and was visited by about six million people in 2010. Its CineStar multiplex cinema and children's play area are part of the complex.
The center has about 2,000 free covered parking spaces. It sits in the Pećine district, roughly a kilometre from the city center, and is reached from the Rijeka-Istok motorway exit on the A6. A bypass road, partly a bridge structure resting on the center itself, runs around the complex.
The complex stretches 370 m long and 80 m wide, with a 22 m wooden dome over the central space. Its bypass road is partly a bridge resting on the ground at one side and on the centre's structure at the other. In 2010 it recorded about 6 million visitors.
