Church of the Holy Spirit, Medieval church in Grad district, Split, Croatia.

The Church of the Holy Spirit is a pre-Romanesque church in the northwest of Split's historic core, built in the 11th century on the site of an earlier single-nave church with a semicircular apse. In the 14th century the nave was extended east by 1.75 metres and a new square apse with a broken vault was added, and the building was raised in height. Two Romanesque reliefs of Christ survive, one on the courtyard portal lunette and one on the west wall.

Built in the 11th century in pre-Romanesque style on the site of an earlier single-nave church with a semicircular apse, it belonged to a larger complex whose remains are still visible. By 1342 the westward-expanding city walls enclosed it, and the whole quarter took its name. In the 14th century the nave was lengthened eastward by 1.75 m in early Gothic style, a new square apse with a broken vault was added, and the building was raised.

The church gave its name to the whole surrounding quarter, which by 1342 had grown westwards and enclosed it within the city walls. One of Split's best-known brotherhoods had its seat here. Since 7 October 2020, the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, the church has hosted a permanent eucharistic adoration, opened with a Mass celebrated by Archbishop Marin Barišić in the nearby cathedral of St Domnius.

The church stands in the northwest part of the historic core, inside the area the city walls reached by 1342, so it is reached on foot through the old streets. Since 7 October 2020 it has hosted permanent Eucharistic adoration, begun with a Mass in the cathedral celebrated by Archbishop Marin Barišić.

Two Romanesque reliefs of Christ survive inside: one on the lunette of the courtyard portal, another on the west wall. The nave was lengthened eastward by 1.75 m in the early Gothic rebuild, and a square apse with a pointed vault replaced the older one.
