All Saints Church, Budapest-Hegyvidék, Catholic church in Budapest District XII, Hungary
All Saints Church is a late 20th-century religious building situated on a hilltop in Budapest with large glass windows extending from floor to ceiling throughout its modern design. The interior displays embossed copper plate wall sculptures and custom-designed furniture created by architect István Szabó.
Construction of the church began in 1993 using prefabricated concrete elements due to financial constraints of that period. The building emerged during an era when this construction method became common in the region.
The church serves as the parish center for the Budapest-Farkasret area and sits directly across from Farkasret cemetery's main entrance. Visitors often notice how the location connects those who come to visit the cemetery nearby.
The church is easily accessible and the large windows provide natural light throughout the interior at different times of the day. Reaching the hillside location requires a bit more walking time than a flat setting, but the ascent is manageable.
Instead of a traditional bell tower, the church bells hang from a concrete beam spanning between the entrance hall and the main nave. This unusual arrangement often surprises visitors expecting a conventional tower structure.
