Budapest District XII

Budapest District XII is an administrative division on the western side of Buda with hilly terrain and extensive forest areas. The zone spans elevated land with numerous green spaces and residential neighborhoods.

The district was created in 1940 as part of Budapest's administrative restructuring. This reorganization reshaped the city's boundaries to better organize the expanding metropolitan area.

The district is known for its green spaces where residents spend time outdoors throughout the year. These areas form part of everyday life for many who live here, especially during warmer months.

The area is hilly and heavily wooded, so sturdy footwear helps when exploring. Bus connections link different neighborhoods, but some areas are best seen on foot.

János Hill, the highest point in the city, sits within the district and shapes the landscape. From the top, views stretch across Budapest and the surrounding region.
