Péterffy Palace, Baroque palace in District V, Hungary
The Péterffy Palace features ornate stone facades and displays two family crests within its tympanum at the central position of the building.
Built between 1755 and 1756 by architect Andreas Mayerhoffer for János Péterffy, the palace stands as an example of 18th-century architectural craftsmanship.
The palace walls bear a flood level marker from 1838, documenting the natural disasters that shaped the development of Budapest's infrastructure.
The palace houses the Százéves étterem restaurant since 1931, offering traditional Hungarian cuisine in the center of Budapest's District V.
The entrance of the palace sits one meter below the current street level, requiring visitors to descend a small set of steps marked by chains.
