Petőfi-szobor, Bronze monument in District V, Hungary.

Petőfi-szobor is a bronze statue of a poet standing on a marble base in central Budapest. The roughly 10-meter-tall figure occupies Petőfi Square and serves as a visual reference point in this active district.

The monument was unveiled in 1882 through collaboration between sculptors Miklós Izsó and Adolf Huszár, with Huszár completing it after Izsó's death. Its creation marked an important project of the late 1800s that honored the memory of the revered poet.

The statue portrays Sándor Petőfi in a pose that recalls his famous National Song. It occupies a meaningful location where locals and travelers often gather and reflect.

The statue stands at Petőfi Square and serves as a central point of reference in District V. It is easily accessible and functions as a natural gathering spot for those exploring the historic parts of the city.

Hungarian violinist Ede Reményi organized concerts throughout the country during the 1860s to raise funds for the statue's construction. This fundraising approach demonstrates how deeply the arts community supported the project at that time.
