Celbridge, Historic market town in County Kildare, Ireland
Located on both banks of the River Liffey, Celbridge extends with residential areas connected by an 18th-century stone bridge at its center point.
The settlement started as Kildrought around a Norman castle and monastery in the 13th century, later changing its name to Celbridge after 1714.
The birthplace of Arthur Guinness contains multiple Georgian mansions, including Castletown House, which represents Ireland's largest Palladian country residence.
The town offers direct transport connections to Dublin through regular bus services and nearby Hazelhatch railway station, making it accessible for visitors.
A collection of woollen mills along the River Liffey shaped the town's population growth throughout the 19th and 20th centuries.
