Taghadoe, Monastery ruins in County Kildare, Ireland.
The monastic site contains stone structures and a round tower that demonstrates the architectural methods of early medieval Irish builders.
Saint Tua, also known as Ultan the Silent, established this religious settlement in the 6th century, which remained active until the 17th century.
The graveyard at Taghadoe holds numerous Roman Catholic burials from the 17th and 18th centuries, reflecting the religious practices of the period.
Located 5 kilometers from Maynooth off the Straffan Road, the site requires visitors to bring their own refreshments as no facilities are available.
The round tower at Taghadoe received national monument status in 1886 and remains under the protection of the Office of Public Works.
